The theory test is divided into two parts, the multiple choice element and the hazard perception element. You take both parts of the theory test on the same day.

If you pass one and not the other you will be required to take both parts of the test again. To make sure this isn't the case Taylor School of Motoring can supply you with all the books and CD's to get you through.

Multiple Choice Questions

The Theory test is multiple choice questions testing your knowledge from Rules of the road to safety and your vehicle.

You have 40 minutes to answer 35 questions of which you must get 30 correct.

Hazard Perception

In the hazard perception element there are 14 video clips and 15 scorable hazards (one of the clips contains two hazards to watch out for).

Each video clip lasts 1 minute and you only get to view it once. A hazard is classed as something which requires the driver to either change speed or direction.

You are marked on how quickly you spot the developing hazards.
